Embodying the role of The Advocate, I would like to take a moment to alert you of the battle for recognition and validation of creative arts therapy in NY state. You may not know that LCATS across the state (Music Therapists, Dance-Movement Therapists, Art Therapists and Drama Therapists), are fighting to be included on health insurance coverage so that all people regardless of their economic status can be supported by our work. As part of this action the LCAT community needs to raise money for an Insurance Lobbyist, someone who can help us navigate the complexities of NY State Insurance Law.
